Connect ChatGPT

You need a Mimetic account with access to your site and a ChatGPT workspace that allows custom MCP plugins. Available tools depend on your connected accounts and Mimetic plan.

  1. In ChatGPT Plugins, choose Add custom MCP server. Use Mimetic as the name and the server URL shown below.
  2. Choose OAuth authentication, then complete Mimetic sign-in and consent. Review the account and requested permissions before approving.
  3. Install the resulting personal plugin, then select it in a ChatGPT Work conversation.
  4. Start by asking which Mimetic projects you can access, then ask for a growth overview of your site.

Access and data

Mimetic enforces account and project access for every tool call. Reading reports uses mcp:read; setup and configuration actions require mcp:write.

Tool arguments and requested results pass through Mimetic and are returned to ChatGPT. Results can contain your site, analytics, or provider data, so use the account and workspace appropriate for that information.

Disconnect or remove access

Remove the custom plugin or connection in ChatGPT. To ensure its Mimetic authorization is revoked, contact Mimetic support with your account email and the connection name. You can also request deletion of stored data.

Troubleshooting

If custom MCP setup is unavailable, check your workspace settings with its administrator. If the project list is empty, sign in with the email that owns your Mimetic report. A 401 response before sign-in is the expected OAuth challenge.
